About

Background

Hi, I’m Matthew from London, Ontario, and I’m currently studying Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Waterloo.

Currently, I’m on my first co-op term as a Web Developer at the University of Waterloo Libraries, where I’ve been building and improving web applications that support students, staff, and researchers.

Technical

Right now, my interests are more on the software side of my “jack of all trades” Mechatronics Engineering program.

I’m interested in getting into robotics and software engineering roles. I enjoy learning new technologies and spend a lot of time working on personal projects.

Interpersonal

I’m someone who can be relied on when things aren’t clearly defined. I like thinking outside the box and using my creative side.

I’ve gotten used to asking questions early, figuring things out as I go, and jumping in wherever I can help. I’ve found that being proactive and easy to work with is just as important as writing good code.

Fun Facts

  • I’ve been playing basketball my whole life and currently play intramural basketball at Waterloo.
  • I enjoy building projects and participating in hackathons. I’ve attended 8 so far and placed 1st at the Fide x Lovable Hackathon.
  • I love traveling and exploring new places. I’ve been to Japan, Korea, and Jamaica, to name a few, and I’d like to explore more of the world.
